What I loved about the internship was the opportunity to explore a broad range of projects, each requiring you to play a different role. Executional projects trained me to manage stakeholder relationships and gave me an opportunity to develop project management skills. On the other hand, roles involving strategic decision-making gave me deeper insights into the complex workings of a big multinational organization. Nevertheless, regardless of the project scope, the mentors in Unilever really do go the extra mile to invest in your learning and personal development!Shannon Yap ULIP, HR
My experience at Unilever was a big adventure. I was lucky—working as a business partner in the finance category allowed me to get close to a variety of businesses.
From day one, I was helming a massive project to improve margins where I had to experiment with different approaches and was given the responsibility to steer the ship. A unique challenge was delivering the project to the brand teams; from leading discussions to presentation of actionable recommendations—experiences one can never get in school.
There were ups and downs, naturally, but thankfully whatever state I was in, the whole journey was buoyed by strong support from my line manager and colleagues.
For those in the process of charting their journey and hoping to attain accelerated growth and business acumen, Unilever is the destination for you.Ryan Cheng ULIP, Finance
As a sustainability advocate, I chose Unilever due to their own sustainability agenda. My role is one that works towards achieving the Unilever Plastics Sustainability Commitment.
My Line Manager taught me the ropes of supplier selection, assessment and supplier review and I even had the opportunity to visit an overseas supplier! I also learned how other stakeholders along the value chain impact procurement.
Unilever is a company filled with wonderful possibilities, as I was able to initiate projects to improve sustainability in the workplace. This summer has been a dream come true for me as I was able to meet many passionate employees and receive valuable mentorship.Chua Ying Xuan ULIP, Supply Chain
Being at Unilever and part of the Ben & Jerry’s team has been such a wonderful and engaging experience for me. Being entrusted with handling different exciting projects and managing different stakeholders is empowering as an intern, and the mentorship that I’ve received is truly invaluable. The teams are extremely diverse and full of warm, inspiring people. Unilever has given me an environment and work that I look forward to going back to everyday, and it has helped me to grow as a better marketer and a better human.Rachelle Goh ULIP, Marketing
